Birds & Blooms

I spent most of the weekend working on small studies of 2 of my favorite subjects, birds and flowers, of course!  First was the magnolia, my favorite Spring flower.  Since our trip to Australia and with all the photos I took and have for inspiration, the second was the kookaburra.  He's just such a cute and interesting bird that I had to take time to study him a little further.

I painted these studies on an 18" x 24" sheet of 140 lb. watercolor paper that I divided into 9 sections.  Following are my 3 most favorite of each of the subjects:

Time sure flies ...

... when you’re having fun! Life seems to be moving real fast right about now and don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining, that’s just the way it seems for now. Although my arm is still messed up and even more so now since I took a fall today on a hike with my hubby, I have been painting and drawing ... just not posting here regularly. Floral abstract and drawings

Wow!  It’s been a couple of weeks since I posted here. Been busy with life but I have been drawing and painting as well. Been concentrating on flowers and floral things of late with the first Spring blooms finally popping up around the neighborhood.
