Practicing Painterly Strokes
I have been trying to paint and/or draw something every day. I’ve got a routine where I make myself a flavored coffee after dinner and then head out to the enclosed back porch (which is currently the room that I call my studio). I’ll spend an hour or 2 out there with my headphones on playing whatever tunes I’m in the mood for and just see what happens.
In the following canvas, I am trying to create a peony flower in as few strokes as possible. I’m happy with these and hope to be able to recreate them again at will. Since practice makes perfect, I’m sure there will be many more I’ll have to paint before it is ingrained in my head and hand and won’t have to think about too much except for the colors that I’d like to use.
Until next time ... Paint On!
Connie
