Beach scene

We hosted family for Easter again this year and I have been doing a lot of Spring cleaning as we are getting a new garage soon.  I have been trying to doodle and paint as well ... I just want to get all those household things done first.  Anyway ...

I bought a couple of linen canvas recently at Hobby Lobby because they were so cheap and I’ve never painted on linen before.  I started with a wash of lavender on one and set it aside. A couple of nights ago I just started adding random marks and patches of pink, purple, orange and white. Last night I decided to cover all that up and painted this beach scene, 9 x 12 on linen.

... when you’re having fun! Life seems to be moving real fast right about now and don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining, that’s just the way it seems for now. Although my arm is still messed up and even more so now since I took a fall today on a hike with my hubby, I have been painting and drawing ... just not posting here regularly. Here’s one of my most recent favorites: Three Peonies, 16 x 20 acrylic on canvas This painting started as an abstract and I just kept on adding layer on top of layer. Floral abstract and drawings

Wow!  It’s been a couple of weeks since I posted here. Been busy with life but I have been drawing and painting as well. Been concentrating on flowers and floral things of late with the first Spring blooms finally popping up around the neighborhood.
